Oakland Tenant Resources

If you are having a tenants’ rights issue in Oakland and need help, the following organizations may be able to help you. There are many additional resources listed in our tenants’ rights handbook, including resources for outside of Oakland, which you can download here.

If you have received an Unlawful Detainer, you must respond at the Hayward courthouse within 5 days (including weekends and holidays). We recommend that you immediately contact the Eviction Defense Center, East Bay Community Law Center, or Centro Legal de La Raza, listed below, if you would like assistance with your response.
